1N4007 rectifier diode — 1A, 1000V, pack of 10.

  • DO-41 axial package, silver band = cathode
  • For rectifiers, reverse-polarity and flyback protection
  • Breadboard and PCB friendly
Description

1N4007 1A 1000V Rectifier Diode – Pack of 10

The 1N4007 is a general-purpose silicon rectifier diode rated for 1A forward current and 1000V reverse voltage, supplied as a pack of 10. It is the standard choice for power-supply rectification, reverse-polarity protection and flyback protection.

The silver band on the body marks the cathode (−). Current flows from anode to cathode only, which lets it block reverse voltage and protect your circuit.

Features

  • 1A average forward current
  • 1000V peak reverse voltage — highest in the 1N400x series
  • Low forward voltage drop (about 1.1V at 1A)
  • 30A surge current rating
  • DO-41 axial through-hole package
  • Pack of 10 pieces

Specifications

  • Type: Silicon rectifier diode
  • Average forward current: 1A
  • Peak reverse voltage (VRRM): 1000V
  • Forward voltage: 1.1V @ 1A
  • Surge current (IFSM): 30A
  • Package: DO-41, axial
  • Polarity: Silver band = cathode
  • Pack size: 10 pieces

Applications

  • AC-to-DC bridge rectifiers and power supplies
  • Reverse-polarity protection on DC inputs

  • 10 x 1N4007 rectifier diodes

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 1N4007 rated 1W or 1A?
It is rated 1A average forward current. Power loss at full current is roughly 1W, which is why some listings call it a “1W” diode.

Which side is the cathode?
The end with the silver/grey band is the cathode (−).

How do I use it as a flyback diode for a relay?
Connect it in reverse across the relay coil — cathode to the positive side, anode to the transistor/negative side.

Can I use 1N4007 instead of 1N4001–1N4006?
Yes. All share the same 1A rating; the 1N4007 has the highest voltage rating, so it replaces any of them.
