The 12V DIY Portable Spot Welding Machine PCB Circuit Board includes an electronic welding module that is the heart of the build. Spot welding works on the principle of rapid local heating and cooling by high current — turning this board into an energy-storage spot welding machine for welding nickel pieces such as lithium batteries and nickel-chromium batteries. It is practical, easy to operate and use, has a wide application range, and offers a long service life.

How the 12V DIY Portable Spot Welding Machine PCB Works

The board stores energy from your 12V battery source and releases it as a short, high-current pulse through the welding probes. This concentrated pulse fuses the nickel strip to the battery terminal in a fraction of a second, creating a strong, low-resistance joint without overheating the cell. Because the heat is applied locally and briefly, the internal chemistry of Li-ion and LiFePO4 cells stays protected — which is why spot welding is preferred over soldering for battery pack assembly.

How to Use

  1. Connect a high-current 12V battery source (see note below) to the board input terminals.
  2. Attach the welding pen / probes to the output pads.
  3. Place a nickel strip over the battery terminal.
  4. Press the probes onto the strip and trigger the pulse using the onboard or external button.
  5. Inspect the weld and repeat for a second spot to ensure a strong bond.

Power Source Note

We recommend using a high-current battery source of 160Ah+ with this module, as all spot welding machines need a high current for welding. A high-CCA lead-acid battery or a high-discharge lithium pack works best. Insufficient current will produce weak welds that peel off easily.
