Q: Which Raspberry Pi models is this power supply compatible with?
This supply works with Raspberry Pi 3B+, 3B, 2B, 1B+, 1A+, Zero, Zero W, and Zero 2W. It is not compatible with Raspberry Pi 4 or Pi 5 — those require a USB-C power supply.
Q: Why does it output 5.1V instead of exactly 5V?
The slightly higher 5.1V compensates for voltage drop along the 1.5m cable under load. By the time current reaches the Pi’s power pins, the voltage is closer to 5V — eliminating the low-voltage warning and preventing random reboots.
Q: Can I use a regular phone charger instead?
Not recommended. Most phone chargers output less than 2A and do not maintain stable voltage under load. An underpowered supply causes the red lightning bolt warning on screen, SD card corruption, and unexpected shutdowns, especially with USB peripherals connected.
Q: Is the cable detachable?
No. The Micro USB cable is fixed and cannot be detached from the power adapter.
Q: What plug type does this come with?
